MPA board terms are renewed on an annual basis. We ask new board members to take their commitment seriously and hope that they will stay with the board for a minimum of three years.
Board meetings will be held monthly on the third Monday of each month at 5:30PM (date and time subject to change, with notice.) The agenda will be planned for a 90 minute meeting. Board members are strongly encouraged to choose a committee to support in addition to their board service. Committees include: Advocacy, Programming, Development, and Operations.
Attendance for MPA general membership special events is expected and the board expects to be well represented at public events relevant to MPA’s mission.
Your overall time commitment to MPA will be approximately 2-4 hours per month.
Economic diversity among Board members is a goal of MPA, and specific levels of financial giving are not required. We just ask that Board members make MPA one of their top three charities during their term(s).
Board members are encouraged to secure 5 new individual members and/or one sponsor annually.
Board members are expected to consider Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) as a standard part of the decision making process.
Board members are expected to conduct all activity on behalf of the organization in keeping with its bylaws.
