Get to know the MPA Staff!
Stephanie Livingston
I have always been interested in history, probably because of my grandmother and her amazing story telling. I enjoyed listening to her talk about the early 1930s, and when she met my grandfather right after the war in 1945. That interest in history grew into preservation in college when I started taking classes in historic preservation and community development. Now, I'm excited to work with an organization that aligns with my values. I deeply believe that getting the community involved is key to saving historic structures and keeping the fabric of Milwaukee's culture alive. I may not have grown up in Milwaukee, but it is now our home and I feel deeply invested in the future of its built environment. |

7. If you could become a fictional character for one day, who would it be?
Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec.

The city of Milwaukee inspires me. It's full of hard-working, amazingly nice people. This city is not trying to be another city south of us that shall remain nameless, it has it's own culture and it's inspiring.
9. What do you see as the future of historic preservation?
The future of historic preservation is adaptability. We will need to adapt to fit the needs of the community.
10. Why should people support MPA?
MPA already has a long list of accomplishments, and with the addition of myself we will have more opportunity to grow capacity and become an even greater force for historic preservation in Milwaukee.
