Get to know the MPA Board
Claude Krawczyk
I was raised in a family that appreciates history and understands the value in keeping and maintaining buildings, monuments and other reminders of the past. Much of my adult life outside of my law practice has been devoted to maintaining or restoring our existing built environment. While I certainly appreciate new things, I believe people in this city and throughout this country are too eager to throw out the old and build new rather than maintain and preserve. This not only shortchanges our history, but also eliminates many still very useful things. Through the last 35+ years, I have been proud to be actively involved in these efforts, including the Walker’s Point Development Corporation, the Restore Kosciuszko Monument Committee, the St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation, the Court of Honor Restoration Project and now the Milwaukee Preservation Alliance.
